This includes annual medical camps, structured health checks for priests and religious leaders, and organizing a sustainable healthcare system through diocesan coordination.

Founder and Advocate for Busoga Health Forum (BHF)

One Village at a Time (OVAAT)
A model village program in Naigobya, Luuka District, OVAAT empowers rural communities through improved early childhood development, education, maternal and child health, sustainable farming, and environmental greening. The participatory, multisectoral model is designed for replication across Uganda and beyond.

Uganda Development and Health Associates (UDHA)


As founder of UDHA, one of Uganda’s most impactful community-based NGOs, Professor Waiswa has advanced public health through education, reproductive health services, HIV prevention, adolescent outreach, and health systems advocacy in underserved areas.

Trained thousands of community health workers (CHWs) and facility-based health workers in MNCH, immunization, and adolescent health across Uganda and Africa.

Established neonatal care units and operationalized operating theatres in rural and peri-urban areas to expand lifesaving care for mothers and newborns.

Influenced national and regional health policy, ensuring that scientific evidence drives practical health systems innovations and equity-focused reforms.
